Detoxifying Green Mush

Ingredients:

4-5 Green Zucchini

4 stalks of celery

1/2 – 1 inch fresh ginger

One bunch of flat leaf parsley

A sprig of mint

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1/2 cup organic cottage cheese or plain Greek Yogurt

Directions:

Blend first 5  ingredients

Serve on top of either cottage cheese or yogurt and sprinkle with pepper

Spicy Indian Curry Eggs

Serves  2

Ingredients:

1 teaspoon of ghee

handful of chopped kale

handful of baby spinach

6 eggs

half of an avocado

1 tablespoon of  hot Indian curry powder

a pinch of sea salt

Directions:

  • over medium heat start to melt  ghee in a skillet on the stove top
  • add Kale and cook until tender
  • whisk eggs and add to kale
  • immediately after eggs, add spinach
  • add curry spice and sea salt

scramble in skillet ’til done and top with avocado

Roasted Nuts

Ingredients:

  • Any and all  of the nuts and seeds that  you like! You do want to start with raw and unsalted nuts/seeds.
  • Any of the following oils:   coconut or avocado
  • Any or all of the following seasonings:

Cinnamon, sea salt, peppers,  turmeric, cardamon, ginger,cumin, chili powder, cloves, nutmeg, curry powder, stevia powder for sweetness

I like the following combinations:

Sweet and Spicy:

cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nut meg, sea salt, Cayenne pepper, stevia powder

Tex Mex Mix:

sea salt, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, fresh squeezed  lime

Spicy Indian:

ginger, cardamon, turmeric,cayenne pepper, sea salt, curry powder

Directions:

Place nuts and seeds in a bowl large enough to cover them in water. Allow nuts and seeds to soak for at least 4 hours, I usually soak mine over night. Once you are done soaking, strain and rinse them.  Pre heat oven to 200 degrees, drizzle oil over nuts, place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and roast for about 2 hours. After roasting is done, add seasonings and enjoy!

Vanilla Almond Butter Smoothie

Ingredients:

8oz unsweetened almond milk

ice

tablespoon of vanilla extract

8-10 drops of Vanilla Creme Liquid Stevia

2 tablespoons of raw almond butter

optional:

Cacao Powder

protein powder

a handful of dark berries

Directions:

blend until smooth!

Vanilla Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

8oz unsweetened almond or coconut milk

8-10 drops of Vanilla Creme Liquid Stevia

Handful of blueberries

two tablespoons of organic cottage cheese

Ice (more ice for a thicker smoothie, less for a thinner smoothie)

Directions:

Blend everything together until smooth.

EZ Green Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

Garden of Life– Super Green Formula (powder)

low carb/sugar  high quality whey protein powder (good choices can be found at health food stores like Whole Foods, Central market, Natural Grocers, Sprouts)

8oz. Unsweetened Almond or coconut  Milk

one or two scoops of Now Organic Stevia Powder

Optional:

2 tablespoons of Navita’s Organic Cacao Powder

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in a shaker, pour over ice and enjoy! You can also blend in a blender if you prefer.

Cheescake Greek Yogurt

Ingredients:

4oz. Fage 2% Fat Greek Yogurt

2oz. Horizon 2% Organic Cottage Cheese

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

sprinkle of sea salt

two scoops of Stevia Powder

Optional:

crushed raw nuts, dark berries

Directions:

Mix it all together and enjoy!

How to make Greek Yogurt less tangy

This is a great way to cut the bitter/tangy taste that so many of you complain about in plain Greek yogurt 🙂

Add any of the following, in any combination, to  full fat plain Greek Yogurt for a yummy treat or for  breakfast

Flavorings:

Vanilla, Coconut, Almond, Banana

Shredded fresh Coconut

One of the following: Stevia Powder/LoHan/Splenda/Xyla/Coconut Crystals

Cinnamon Powder

Pumpkin Pie Spice

Cacao Powder

Sugar free jelly ( Smuckers makes a good one)

Paleo Pumpkin Pie Spiced “Milk”

8oz. Unsweetened Almond or Coconut Milk

One tablespoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

One Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

Two scoop Now Organic Stevia Powder

One teaspoon vanilla flavor

Crushed Ice

Combine all ingredients in shaker and and shake ’til blended

Paleo Cacao “Milk”

Two Tablespoons Organic Cacao Powder

One tablespoon vanilla  extract

Two-four  scoops of  NOW Organic Stevia

dash of sea salt

One Teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake ’til blended or for a creamy smoothie, blend in a blender.
